Overview

Awake AI ("the App") is a macOS menu bar utility developed by Modane Management. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the App uses and how.

Data We Do Not Collect

• No analytics or usage tracking
• No crash reports sent to us
• No user accounts or registration
• No data shared with third parties by us
• No cookies or web tracking

API Keys

The App allows you to optionally configure API keys for third-party AI services (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google AI). These keys are:

• Stored locally on your device in the Application Support directory
• Never transmitted to us or any server other than the AI provider you selected
• Used solely to process your natural language commands within the App
• Deletable at any time through the App's Settings tab

Third-Party AI Services

When you use the AI command feature, your command text is sent directly to the AI provider whose API key you configured. This communication is between your device and the AI provider. We do not intermediate, log, or store these communications.

Local Data

The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Your configuration preferences (watch list, rules, settings)
• AI API keys (in Application Support, protected by macOS file permissions)

This data never leaves your device.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
